Australian Cattle Dog with a High in Trial Scent work award

"Tin Roof's Special Edition Namaka SWN SWA RATN RATO RATS ORT" aka "Mya", is the keeper of the 2020 litter. Mya's sire is a Grand Champion male that is an absolute delight to be around. Tory (GCH CH Namaka's True Blue Toreador SWE) is his name and sniffin is his main game. His owner is competing with him in AKC Scent work. "CH Devon's Endless Love CGCA RATN RATO SWN SEA CGCA" AKA "Willow" is Mya's mother. Mya is "A" Clear for PRA-prcd, RCD4, bilaterally normal BAER (hearing test), Clear for over 200 health tests (breeder DNA panel even though Mya is obligate clear). She was the first one born, her litter name was Number One, and she was the pick of the litter. Mya had nine pups total in her litter. She has graduated Puppy class at Hidden Valley Obedience Club as an AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy! Mya and I take lessons at scent work classes, and Mya' LOVES it! She is really good at it also! I will continue to train, socialize, and love Mya'. Hopefully, I can get her to a show, but she is not fond of strangers touching and hovering over her. It is not the biggest ordeal if we do not enter the conformation ring. The whole idea is to have fun, and if it won't be fun for her, we do not have to do it. Barn Hunt! Wowzah, does Mya LOVE barn hunt!!! She is amazing at both. We are also enjoying competing at scent work trials. I have enjoyed raising puppies with her and watching her be the best momma dog. There was fast cat at one of the events we were going to be at, and I entered Mya. She is going to eat that up! Once she figured out, she was supposed to chase that plastic bag thing.....VROOM, she was off and running! Mya is a Special Edition (just as she is named) for sure. She is gritty. A true "cattle dog" in many ways. As the breed standard states, ACD's are "weary of strangers".  She was born and raised during the beginning of covid when all of the high risk people had to stay home, and businesses were closed down. This is the crucial time for a puppy to go everywhere, go to classes, go to businesses to meet people and see things like Home Depot, Wal-Mart, dog trials and shows, etc. Mya did not get the proper socialization and exposure. She was not allowed to meet strangers due to COVID19, so she is less confident than my other dogs. All in all, "Mya" is a wonderful athlete that will do almost anything to compete for a cookie and for my approval. Mya is my businesswoman when I go to trials. She is not here to schmooze strangers for scratches and pets, but she might try to beg for your lunch! She is a great watch dog and is my protector most of the time. She is like Velcro to me if allowed to be. Typically, wherever I am at home she is right there. Mya is excellent naturally at herding, but I need to learn what to do to be able to keep up with her. She is a reminder of a true-blue heeler that will go all day long, riding the trails, working sheep, watch over your home and property, and be the best competition dog in your line up. She is truly all heart, and I enjoy her presence in the pack.
